A student-led initiative that collects gently used sports gear, redistributes it for free to the community, and uses proceeds from unclaimed donations to fund a scholarship for local college-bound student-athletes.

During the donation window at the start of each event cycle (specific to each location, see the Instagram page of said location for information regarding event dates), drop off any gently used sports gear in the labeled red bins on participating campuses, typically near the main or athletic offices.

Anything gently used — cleats, balls, pads, uniforms, and similar equipment are all welcome.

Free redistribution events are held over the weekend of each event cycle, with a set window of time when any member of the community can stop by and take gear at no cost.

Yes — students of participating high schools can earn official community service hours by helping clean and organize donated gear after school later in the week. Spots will require signing up in advance to confirm attendance.

Overall, it is up to the mangers’ discretion, but it generally operates on a three-month cycle, with each cycle following the same donate, volunteer, and redistribute structure over one week.

Depending on the resources of the location, different approaches will be taken. Ideally gear will be sold to a local secondhand sporting goods reseller, with proceeds go directly toward the RSPS Athletic Scholarship. If that option is not available, donating all gear to a not-for-profit donation facility or holding gear for future events are also plausible solutions
